Spring Time – Moab

Spring is here now although it had a couple of false starts.

These false starts weren’t a bad thing…. 12 inches of pow last Thursday at the basin was AWESOME and there is a stack of snow up high so poly will get another run next week.

Next weekend I’m off down to Telluride to help Brielle open up the camp ground.  The week after I start my rock climbing class and a week or two after that I’ll have to go and see Rob and Nancy down in Crested Butte.

But, this post is about past missions.  So first up in Moab.  My first time out there and Lady Catherine organized the trip.

Thing is…. it snowed a bunch on Thursday night and Vail opened on Friday morning.  So Jeff and I skied first chair at Vail.

We skied for 2 hrs and since we didn’t have to be in Moab until sunset…. we grabbed 18 holes.  First tee was scary as it was the first swing for either of us in 6 months but we didn’t do as bad as we could have.

It rained a little on Saturday morning and the lycra brigade don’t like to get their lycra dirty.  I’ve never seen sooooooo many guys walking around in stretch/yoga pants.

Anyway, since it was a little wet we went to Double Arch which was awesome!!!!

This is why we came here – biking riding.  If was great – 4 chicks kicking our arses but that was just on the downhill.  When it came to the uphill….. lordy lord the girls left us in their dust.

Jeff and I were invited to ride with the girls on Sunday but we were a little sore so we hit the Moab Golf Course.  It wasn’t any better than our first round but it was a great course and we played with a guy called Howdy.

How often do you get to say “G’day Howdy”?

Back for a few days and then I was off to Colorado Springs to hang out with Eric.  Golf was on the menu and we played 3 rounds in 3 days.  Eric did feel sorry for me for hanging around mountain pretty girls all winter so as soon as I arrived he got me to the Broadmoor Hotel.

Nice choice Eric!!!!

Not a whole lot of photos which was a shame.  The drive down was nice, Garden of the Gods was nice, the golf courses were great and the girls were really pretty.  Eric also took me to a batting cage – first time I’ve swung a baseball bat.

This pic is from the Broadmoor at about 3am…..
