Fall Road Trip

I haven’t posted much this summer; playing golf, hiking and doing school work is not really worth posting.

This semester I’m taking a bunch of classes so I don’t have to take any this winter and it has been a hoot.  Tonight, my neighbor Adam was up and we spent 3hrs working on some calculus which was great fun, neither of us are shy of a drink so our math deteriorated but I think we figured it out.

Last week I even got to tell my ‘Aussie Kiss’ joke in class.  Lordy lord!!!!

After all the darn rain we’ve had, I headed south to play golf with Rob.  I arrived to a gorgeous day with Rob and Old Tom who took the time to school me on one of my favourite golf courses.  This was my 3rd round on 3 different courses in 5 days.

Getting schooled on the golf course is upsetting for me but getting schooled on the dirt bike is what I love.  Yet again, I broke Rob’s bikes.  I screwed up the plugs on my bike, when Rob loaned me his bike, I crashed it and broke and handle bars.

Here is Rob, I don’t wear a helmet on my dirt bike in Queenstown but that is because I don’t go very fast.  Rob won’t let me even sit on a bike without a helmet BUT he is riding my bike up a length of trail that I couldn’t.  He normally wears a helmet.

Since I broke Rob’s bikes there was no point me staying any longer so I headed over to Little Squaw to help Brielle and her crew shut the place down for the summer.

The drive was gorgeous!!!

Just out of Brielle’s place there is a dam with an island…. just like the 17th at TPC Sawgrass.  185 yards, 6 attempts and I missed it.

This valley had a fire go through it in the spring…. the photo below shows how it ripped through.  Thing is, since it rained all day, we were evacuated due to flash flood risk so no pics from the resort.

I’ll be out there next spring, or maybe a mid winter/sledding mission if I can convince the boss.

I did catch a chipmunk/blue jay battle and the deer eat out of your hand…
