Shazzered

There hasn’t been as many guests this winter… relatively speaking of course.

Moc and Steve were here before I arrived, Kronbush was here over New Years, Little Spoon has been here most of the winter, Cole and Gabriella were here in late Jan, Fi and Josh in Feb, Doug and his gaggle of girls are being entertained at the Chateau Grindlay most weeks and Shazza was here for a few week in March. And this winter it felt like there weren’t many guests!!!

Well Shaz was here last and I haven’t put any pics of her up here. While Shaz was here… it DUMPED (as it has done all season actually)….

Shaz has always been a good sport when it comes to hiking in NZ (chutes, Toilet Bowl, Outward Bound) and here she is hiking at 13,000 feet in Colorado – only tourists take the cat….

The hike did pay off……

While Shaz was here she got to ski Breckenridge, Keystone, Beaver Creek and Vail. On her Beaver Creek day the weather wasn’t quite blue sky – Shaz in her ‘winter jacket’ dropping into some of the steeper lines at the Beav (I think Shaz likes Beaver).

Can you make her out?

Beaver Creek has a World Cup Downhill Course called “Birds of Prey” – I think Bode nearly ripped his leg off there in a crash a few years back. I think Shazza can handle it just fine (you can make out the poles they hang the netting from on the side of the run).

A couple of pics from Vail…. Shaz dropping off the ‘Blue Sky Basin’ cornice at Vail….

The Minturn Mile is this ski run off the back of Vail down to this little old mining town. Little Spoon and I did it a couple of months back and we hadn’t intended on taking Shaz down it. After a few ‘adult beverages’ at lunch we had a craving for some Minturn Mile Margaritas!!!

Shaz has had enough of Vail and is heading to Minturn – I’ve got a feeling she didn’t read ALL of the disclaimers.

I’m sure that one of those disclaimers mentions a risk of falling over….
